Sunan an-Nasa'i

It was narrated that Humaid bin 'Abdur-Rahman said: "I heard Mu'awiyah say, when he was on the Minbar in Al-Madinah, and he brought out a hairpiece from his sleeve: “O people of Al-Madinah, where are your knowledgeable ones? I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbid such things as this, and he said: "The Children of Israel were destroyed when their women started to wear things like this”
